Today’s crowns and bridges are crafted from realistic, durable porcelain that blends beautifully with your natural smile, so you can enjoy a stronger bite day in and day out. At West Frisco Dental and Implants, every restoration is designed to look and feel as close as possible to your own teeth.

Full-coverage crowns

A crown covers the entire tooth above the gumline, protecting it from breaking or wearing down. You may need a crown if you have:

  • A broken or fractured tooth
  • Severe decay that a filling cannot fix
  • An older, leaking filling
  • A tooth that recently had a root canal
  • A worn or misshapen tooth you would like to improve cosmetically

Porcelain bridges

A bridge uses two crowns with an artificial tooth (a “pontic”) bonded between them to fill the gap left by a missing tooth. It restores your bite and keeps the neighbouring teeth from drifting.

Implant crowns and bridges

Our custom crowns and bridges are the perfect finish for dental implants, giving you a permanent replacement that stands on its own. For a full arch, we also offer All-on-4 / Teeth in a Day.

Part of your full mouth rehabilitation

Restoring both beauty and function changes everything, from enjoying your favorite foods to feeling confident when you talk. Crowns and bridges are a vital part of the full mouth rehabilitation our prosthodontist, Dr. Ortiz-Parsons, plans and delivers here in Frisco.

Crowns and bridges FAQs

How long does a crown last?

Porcelain crowns typically last 10 to 15 years, and often much longer with good brushing, flossing and regular checkups.

How many visits does a crown take?

Usually two. At the first we prepare the tooth, take a digital scan (no gooey impression material) and fit a temporary crown. Two to three weeks later the final crown is bonded in place.

Bridge or implant, which is better for a missing tooth?

A bridge is faster and uses the neighbouring teeth for support. An implant stands alone, protects the bone and does not require shaping healthy teeth. Our doctors will explain which is right for your situation, and both are done in our office.

Does insurance cover crowns?

Most PPO plans cover a portion of crowns and bridges when they are needed to restore a damaged or missing tooth. We verify your benefits before treatment.

Most PPO plans accepted. Discounts for patients without insurance, and monthly payment plans through CareCredit and Lending Club.

Broken or worn tooth?

A crown can protect it before it gets worse. Book an exam with our Frisco dentists.
